Job summary

Resthaven Incorporated is seeking a governance and executive support lead in Adelaide to oversee Board and committee meeting cycles, prepare papers, agendas, and minutes, and manage governance records. You will brief the CEO, Board, and ET on legislative developments and supporting regulatory reporting.

The role also provides comprehensive executive support to the CEO, including calendar management, travel arrangements, and liaison with government departments and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in business administration, governance, law, or equivalent senior experience in a governance or company secretarial role
  • Proven experience managing Board and subcommittee operations, including board papers, minutes, and governance reporting
  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance frameworks and statutory compliance in not-for-profit or similar sector
  • Outstanding written communication skills with ability to produce clear, accurate, professional documents

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute Board and committee papers, agendas, minutes and supporting materials
  • Maintain governance registers, charters, committee terms of reference, and delegation framework
  • Support statutory compliance and regulatory reporting under relevant Acts
  • Brief the CEO, Board and Executive Management Group on legislative and governance developments
  • Manage the CEO's calendar, correspondence, travel, and meeting preparation
  • Liaise between the CEO, Board members, government departments, and external stakeholders
  • Draft correspondence, briefing papers, reports, and presentations for the CEO and Board Chair
  • Lead a small reception and administration team

Job description

You'll work at the centre of Resthaven's leadership, providing trusted governance support to the Board and high-level executive support to the CEO.This is a varied and influential role, overseeing the Board and committee meeting cycle, including the preparation of papers, agendas, minutes, actions and governance records. You'll also support Resthaven's governance and compliance framework, monitor relevant legislative developments and provide timely briefings to the CEO, Board and Executive Management Team.Alongside your governance responsibilities, you'll provide comprehensive executive support to the CEO, managing a complex calendar, correspondence, travel, meeting preparation and key stakeholder relationships. You'll liaise regularly with Board members, government departments and external stakeholders, requiring sound judgement, discretion and a highly professional approach.This role will suit someone who is equally comfortable working within formal governance processes and the demands of a busy executive office, and who takes pride in being organised, responsive and trusted.Please note that attendance at Board and committee meetings is required, and some of these are scheduled outside standard business hours.

  • Brief the CEO, Board, and Executive Management Group on legislative and governance developments
  • Manage the CEO's calendar, correspondence, travel, and meeting preparation
  • Act as liaison between the CEO, Board members, government departments, and external stakeholders
  • Draft correspondence, briefing papers, reports, and presentations on behalf of the CEO and Board Chair
  • Lead a small reception and administration team.
Qualifications

Required Skills
  • Proven experience managing Board and subcommittee operations, including board papers, minutes, and governance reporting
  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance frameworks and statutory compliance in the not-for-profit or similar sector
  • Outstanding written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and professional documents
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and confidence working with Board portals such as DiligentA reputation for discretion and the ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost professionalismThe ability to manage competing priorities calmly and meet deadlines consistently.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in aged care, health or community services is valued but not essential. If you have strong governance and executive support experience and the judgement this role demands, we would love to hear from you.
