Job summary

Compass Group is seeking Kitchen Hands for permanent roles at two large BMA Villages in Moranbah, on a drive‑in/drive‑out or bus‑in/bus‑out basis from Mackay. Rosters include 14x7 or 4x3 and offer a great work‑life balance.

The role is physically demanding and requires you to support chefs, perform food prep, keep the kitchen clean, and manage supplies while maintaining safety and hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Hospitality back of house experience preferred but training may be provided.
• Ability to work long 10–11 hour shifts in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Drivers license and access to reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Assist Chefs with food preparation and kitchen cleaning.
• Maintain a safe, hygienic work environment and stock rotation.
• Load/unload supplies, restock as required and handle ad hoc tasks.

• $73,428 - $79,265 Base Salary + Super

ESS provides multi-service capability to major companies and organisations operating in remote sites, gold mines and coal fields. We provide vital workplace support for people working in some of the most isolated terrains in the world, from oil rigs in the North Sea to gold mines in the Australian Outback. Due to anticipated growth across our flagship portfolio in Central QLD, we have exciting opportunities for kitchenhands working 14x7 (10) rosters (14 days on, 7 days off, 10-hour shifts) or 4x3 (11) roster (Tues to Fri, 11-hour shifts)

The Position

We have exciting permanentKitchen Hand roles available at our 2 large BMA Villages in Moranbah on a drive-in/drive-out or bus-in/bus-out basis (from Mackay only) on 14x7 or 4x3 rosters allowing for a great work/life balance.

• This role is physically demanding and requires you to have the ability to work 10 hour days or nights on your feet.
• You will play a pivotal role in assisting in the delivery of high quality and efficient food services to our residents staying on-site.
• Your tasks will include assisting our Chefs with food preparation, cleaning and washing up the kitchen area and equipment, maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment, assisting with restock and stock rotation, loading and unloading of supplies, partaking in stock take and any other ad hoc tasks as required.

The Person

• Hospitality back of house experience preferred but willing to train new entrants
• Ability to work long shifts (10-11 hour shifts) in a fast-paced environment
• Drivers license and own reliable transport (Bus is available from Mackay)
• Be flexible and adaptable
• Ability to work within a team and autonomously when required
• Physically fit and able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test
• Standard 11 Certificate (Desirable)
