Mercy Health is seeking a leader for the Birthing Suite at Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg, Melbourne. You will manage day-to-day operations of the 12-bed unit and guide a skilled midwifery team within a tertiary referral centre, delivering comprehensive care for high- and low-risk pregnancies.

You will lead with empathy, support birth choices, and develop your leadership skills while collaborating with a wider multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• AMUM experience or prior charge experience in a birthing suite.
• Level 3 RANZCOG practitioner status.
• Ability to perform IV cannulation, balloon catheter insertion for induction of labour, perineal suturing and waterbirth.
• Knowledge of managing high-risk pregnancies and supporting physiological birth where possible.
• Evidence of AHPRA Registration, Police Check, Working with Children Check and vaccination status as required.

Responsabilités

• Lead a 12-bed birthing suite and guide the midwifery team.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within a tertiary referral centre.
• Support birth choices including unmedicated, hypnobirth or high-risk induction.
• Encourage midwives to work to their full scope of practice and develop leadership skills.
• Join groups promoting positive change, including environmental initiatives.
