Job summary

UNSW's School of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences seeks a Professor of Biotechnology Entrepreneurship to provide senior leadership at the interface of molecular bioscience, translation, industry engagement and venture creation. The appointee will drive translational biotechnology opportunities, mentoring, and strategic industry partnerships.

Qualifications

Proven record in biotechnology entrepreneurship, including company formation, start-up leadership, venture capital investment and therapeutics translation.
Sustained publications at senior-author level in top journals.
Strong track record in competitive national and international research funding.

Responsibilities

Establish and grow biotechnology entrepreneurship and translational activities within BABS and UNSW, including start-up/spin-out opportunities and industry collaborations.
Carry out original research at the highest level and advance knowledge in biotechnology.
Lead major research programs and secure substantial research income through government, philanthropic and industry funding.
