University of New South Wales in Sydney seeks a Professor of Biotechnology Entrepreneurship to provide senior academic leadership at the interface of molecular bioscience, biotechnology translation, industry engagement and venture creation.

The role focuses on translating research into real-world biotechnology outcomes, including start-ups, patents, licensing, and venture capital engagement, while mentoring researchers and expanding interdisciplinary collaborations.

Formación

• PhD in related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Proven record of biotechnology entrepreneurship including start-up/spin-out leadership and venture capital engagement.
• Sustained publications in top journals at senior-author level (Q1/ERA A*).
• Strong national and international research funding success, with industry engagement.

Responsabilidades

• Establish and grow biotechnology entrepreneurship and translational research within BABS and UNSW, including start-up/spin-out opportunities and industry partnerships.
• Carry out original, high-level research contributing to biotechnology knowledge across disciplines.
• Lead major research programs and secure substantial funding from government, philanthropic, and industry sources.
• Develop productive relationships with industry, investors, government, and research organisations to enhance impact and translation.
• Mentor HDR candidates, supervise research teams, and promote educational excellence and inclusion.
