Alignerr is seeking a Biotech Health Data Governance Lead to shape how AI models learn from clinical and research data at scale. You will ensure data accuracy, traceability, and regulatory readiness for scientific discovery.

This fully remote hourly contract offers flexible hours, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and the chance to impact AI development in life sciences while maintaining strict privacy and compliance standards.

Biotech Health Data Governance Lead (AI Training)

About The Role

What if your deep expertise in biotech data governance could directly shape how AI understands and works with clinical and research data at scale? We're looking for a Biotech Health Data Governance Lead to ensure that research and clinical trial data powering next-generation AI models is accurate, traceable, compliant, and ready for scientific discovery and regulatory scrutiny.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for experienced life sciences professionals who want meaningful work with real impact — on their own schedule.

What You'll Do

• Govern biotech research and clinical trial data to ensure accuracy, lineage, and full auditability for scientific analysis and regulatory submissions
• Define and enforce data policies covering classification, access controls, security protocols, and metadata standards across research, clinical, regulatory, and partner teams
• Enable secure, governed access to sensitive data for analytics, innovation initiatives, and external collaborations — while protecting confidential and patient-related information
• Collaborate cross-functionally with scientific, IT, compliance, and business stakeholders to align data standards and workflows
• Identify gaps in data quality or governance processes and implement practical, scalable solutions

Who You Are

• Experienced in leading or implementing data governance programs within biotech, life sciences, clinical research, or other regulated data environments
• Strong working knowledge of data privacy, security, compliance frameworks, and regulatory expectations for research and clinical trial data (e.g., FDA, GCP, HIPAA, GDPR)
• Skilled at translating complex governance requirements into clear policies and actionable workflows
• Effective collaborator — you can bridge the gap between scientific, technical, and compliance teams
• Detail-oriented and systematic — you build processes that hold up under regulatory scrutiny

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation pipelines, data quality evaluation, or AI training data workflows
• Familiarity with clinical data management systems or electronic data capture (EDC) platforms
• Background in bioinformatics, regulatory affairs, or clinical data management
• Exposure to AI or machine learning data infrastructure in a life sciences context
