Job summary

Western Sydney University is seeking an experienced biostatistician to provide authoritative advice and applied research support across the Faculty of Health. You will collaborate with research leaders and multidisciplinary teams to enhance the quality and competitiveness of health research.

Qualifications

• A postgraduate qualification in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, quantitative health research or a related discipline, with extensive relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide authoritative specialist biostatistical advice and applied research support across the Faculty of Health.
• Working with research leaders, Faculty Research Operations and multidisciplinary researchers, you will improve the quality, rigour and competitiveness of health and medical research.
• You will advise on complex study design, statistical methodology, sample size and power, analysis planning, interpretation and reporting.
• You will review grant applications, protocols and project concepts, and develop robust statistical analysis plans that address modelling, missing data, sensitivity analyses, uncertainty and limitations.
• You will also guide applied analyses for priority research projects and produce statistical outputs for grants, ethics submissions, reports, manuscripts and partner communications.
• Through practical guidance, templates, quality standards and consultation practices, you will build researcher capability and support a sustainable Faculty-wide biostatistical service.
