Biosecurity Queensland is seeking a Biosecurity Officer to support local governments in regional planning and contribute to eradication operations for invasive species. The role requires a Diploma/Advanced Diploma in a relevant field, a C class driver’s licence, and Q Fever vaccination (or willingness to be vaccinated).

Applicants must be prepared to operate a 4WD in remote areas, walk up to 5 km, lift up to 10 kg, and conduct field sampling as needed.

Qualifications

• Australian Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a relevant field or equivalent.
• A current 'C' class drivers' licence.
• Vaccination against Q Fever or willingness to be vaccinated.

Responsabilités

• Support local governments with local and regional biosecurity planning processes.
• Participate in Biosecurity operations directed at eradication of invasive species.
• Undertake investigations into alleged offences against the Biosecurity Act 2014.
• Provide accurate and timely technical advice on best practice for control of invasive species.
