Alignerr is seeking PhD-level Biochemists to evaluate and improve AI systems trained on advanced biochemical content, shaping how AI reasons about protein folding, metabolism, and molecular genetics.

This remote hourly contract offers 10–40 hours per week with asynchronous, independent work. You will design problems, author step-by-step solutions, and evaluate AI-generated biochemical pathways and structures for technical accuracy.

Qualificações

• PhD completed or in final stages in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related field.
• Strong knowledge in structural biology, enzymology, metabolism or bioinformatics.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in writing.
• High attention to detail when reviewing equations and diagrams.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently on task-based assignments.
• No prior AI experience required.

What You'll Do

• Design advanced biochemistry problems across domains such as nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, and drug-target interactions to rigorously test AI performance
• Author detailed, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as gold-standard benchmarks for AI scientific reasoning
• Evaluate AI-generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and mathematical derivations for technical accuracy and adherence to scientific standards
• Identify reasoning errors — such as incorrect stoichiometry, flawed stereochemistry, or misapplied enzyme kinetics — and provide structured feedback to improve AI outputs
• Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule

Who You Are

• Holds a PhD (completed or in final stages) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field
• Strong foundational knowledge in one or more core areas: structural biology, enzymology, cellular metabolism, or bioinformatics
• Able to communicate highly technical biological and chemical concepts clearly and precisely in written form
• High attention to detail when reviewing complex chemical equations, molecular diagrams, and experimental protocols
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on task-based assignments
• No prior AI experience required

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or evaluation systems
• Familiarity with computational biochemistry tools such as PyMOL, AlphaFold, or BLAST
• Experience reviewing or writing scientific literature
