Job summary

Alignerr is seeking Biology Experts with Masters or PhDs to help train and refine AI models in biology. This fully remote, flexible hourly contract invites researchers to contribute on their own schedule, applying deep domain knowledge in genetics, biotechnology, or bioinformatics.

You will design and review challenging biology prompts, collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers, and ensure scientific accuracy and clear explanations. 10–40 hours per week, remote in Australia.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Biology or a closely related field (Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, etc.).
• Deep expertise in at least one of: genetics, biotechnology, or bioinformatics.
• Comfortable coding in Python or R.
• Exceptional written communication translating complex science into clear explanations.
• Fluent in English.

Who You Are

• Master's or PhD in Biology or a closely related field (Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, etc.)

• Comfortable coding in Python or R — whether from research, coursework, or personal projects
• Exceptionally clear written communicator who can translate complex science into well-structured explanations
• Detail-oriented and methodical — you hold your work to a high standard
• Fluent in English

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or AI evaluation workflows
• Background in computational biology, systems biology, or omics research
