Job summary

Capital Design Works designs, manufactures and installs premium joinery for clubs, pubs and casinos across NSW, QLD and VIC. This hands-on bench cabinetmaker role builds custom commercial joinery and one-off pieces in a fixed two-person team, with a Production Manager to support efficiency.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified cabinetmaker or proven trade experience
• Knows how long a job should take and works to schedule
• Meets deadlines and ships on-time
• Fast on the bench with high first-time quality
• Takes pride in workmanship and fixes defects
• Leaks early problems and communicates them
• Punctual, reliable, and completes shifts
• Able to read commercial shop drawings accurately
• Has reliable transport to Sydney factory

Responsibilities

• Reading shop drawings and cut lists, planning build sequence
• Bench assembly of cabinets and bespoke pieces
• Hardware installation (hinges, runners, locks, handles, soft-close, push-to-open)
• Site edging, scribing, hand-fitting where needed
• Working with melamine, laminate, veneer, solid timber, metal trims
• Quality-checking own work before it leaves bench
• Keep area and tools tidy and organized
• Coordinate with machinist, storeman and Production Supervisor to address shortages
