Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work).
• Current certification in behaviour support practice (PBS).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience delivering behaviour support services.
• Valid WWCC and driver’s licence eligibility.
• First aid/CPR certification and ability to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals’ behavioural support needs and develop personalised plans.
• Deliver direct behaviour support services to clients in community settings.
• Implement evidence-based intervention strategies tailored to individual needs.
• Monitor effectiveness and adjust strategies as required.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and outcomes.

olesuke.com is seeking a skilled and compassionate Behaviour Support Practitioner to work as an independent subcontractor. This contract-based position offers the flexibility of independent work whilst making a meaningful difference in the community. Based in Sydney NSW 2000, this role is perfect for practitioners who are passionate about supporting individuals with behavioural challenges and promoting positive community development outcomes.

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will be instrumental in delivering tailored behaviour support services that empower individuals and strengthen communities. This role sits at the heart of our mission to provide effective, evidence-based interventions that create lasting positive change.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals' behavioural support needs and develop personalised behaviour support plans
• Deliver direct behaviour support services to clients in community settings, including one-on-one coaching and mentoring
• Implement evidence-based behaviour intervention strategies and techniques tailored to individual needs
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour support interventions and adjust strategies as needed
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of client progress, support plans and outcomes
• Collaborate with clients, families, carers and other service providers to ensure coordinated and holistic support
• Provide coaching and guidance to clients and support networks on behaviour management strategies
• Maintain professional standards and adhere to relevant legislation, codes of conduct and safeguarding policies
• Attend supervision sessions and professional development opportunities as required
• Manage your own workload and scheduling as an independent subcontractor

What we're looking for

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Behavioural Science, Community Development or a related field
• Current certification or formal training in behaviour support practice (such as Positive Behaviour Support accreditation)
• Minimum 3 years' experience delivering behaviour support services in community or residential settings
• Strong knowledge of behaviour management principles, positive behaviour support frameworks and evidence-based interventions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse client populations
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own professional practice as an independent contractor
• Current first aid and CPR certification
• Valid Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain one)
• Current driver's licence and access to reliable transport
• Commitment to cultural competency and ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt interventions to individual circumstances
• Preferred: Experience working with people with disability, mental health challenges or complex behavioural needs
• Preferred: Formal supervision or mentoring experience
