Job summary

HenderCare is seeking a passionate Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our Allied health team in Adelaide. You will deliver person-centred assessments and planning to support skill development and independence for people living with disability.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, applying positive behaviour support principles and collaborating with families, supporters and other clinicians to help clients reach their goals.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Developmental Education, or another relevant allied health area.
• A minimum of 1-2 years' experience in providing Positive Behaviour Support.
• Eligibility to work as a Core or Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner under the NDIS Commission and a strong understanding of the NDIS PBS Capability Framework.
• Proven ability to work with clients with complex needs and apply person-centred practices.

Responsibilities

• Conducting assessments to identify functions and causes of behaviours of concern and develop effective strategies to improve quality of life.
• Designing and implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans tailored to each participant.
• Provide training, modelling, and coaching to families and support workers to build capacity and ensure consistent implementation of strategies.
• Collect and analyse data to monitor PBS effectiveness and adjust plans as needed.
• Maintaining knowledge of the NDIS PBS Capability Framework and regulatory requirements.
• Providing ongoing, face-to-face PBS plan implementation and collaboration with stakeholders.
