Job summary

Everyday Independence is seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner to deliver life-changing therapy for NDIS participants from Lake Haven and surrounding areas. The role spans diverse settings, from homes to schools and community spaces, applying assessment and intervention skills to help participants achieve goals and maximize funding.

You will develop and implement Behaviour Support Plans, conduct FBAs, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor, Masters or Graduate Diploma) and registration such as AHPRA/SPA/AASW/BSPA depending on discipline.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check are required.
• Minimum 12 months experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Work across homes, schools, playgrounds, workplaces and community centres to support participants.
• Develop and implement Behaviour Support Plans with function-based strategies.
• Conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA).
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address complex behavioural challenges.
• Attend weekly team meetings at the Hub and engage with mentors.

Salary - $77,200 - $110,143 per annum (inclusive of annual leave loading) + superannuation + vehicle options + mobile + laptop + options to boost salary up to $10,000

About The Role

We are looking for experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners to provide life-changing therapy to NDIS participants. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Everyday Independence, no two days will be the same. If you were here last week, these are some of the things you may have done:

• Working in the social model means you’ll work in diverse settings; from homes and schools to playgrounds, workplaces, and community centres
• Utilizing assessment and intervention skills to support participants in achieving their goals and maximizing NDIS funding
• Building meaningful relationships with the participants and their supports (family, carers, friends)
• Developing and implementing Behaviour Support Plans with function-based strategies, utilising positive behaviour support framework
• Conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA)
• Collaborating within interdisciplinary teams to address complex behavioural challenges
• Attend weekly team meetings in the Hub; sharing stories of impact, coffee and laughs
• You’ll tap into the knowledge and support of your Team Leader and dedicated Therapy Mentor

To Work As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, You Will Have a Relevant Tertiary Qualification (Bachelor, Masters Or Graduate Diploma) And Relevant Registration Such As The Below

• If you are an Occupational Therapist, you will have a degree in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration
• If you are a Speech Pathologist, you will have a degree in Speech Pathology and SPA registration
• If you are a Social Worker, you will have a degree in Social Work and AASW membership
• If you are a Mental Health Nurse, you'll have a degree in Nursing and AHPRA registration
• You have a degree in Psychology, Psychological/Social Science or related field and BSPA membership

You’ll also need:

• Be deemed as a Behaviour Support Practitioner by the NDS Quality and Safeguards Commission (evidence of letter required)
• Minimum 12 months experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
• A positive and flexible approach to work
• Strong communication skills and be a team player
• Commitment to personal and professional growth
• A valid Australian drivers license
• NDIS Workers Screening Check
• Working with Children Check
