Job summary

Interaction Disability Services is seeking dedicated Behaviour Support Practitioners to join our Central Coast team, delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based behaviour support. You will work with participants across the Central Coast, families and stakeholders to ensure rights and goals are central to planning.

You will contribute through functional behaviour assessments, BSP development, and providing training and support to families and staff, while maintaining thorough clinical notes and

  • NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner registration number and suitability confirmation.
  • Experience delivering positive behaviour support.
  • Ability to work with participants of diverse ages and needs.
  • Commitment to ethical, person-centred service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality, evidence-based behaviour support.
  • Conduct functional behaviour assessments and develop positive behaviour support plans.
  • Collaborate with participants, families and stakeholders to build trusting relationships.
  • Train families, carers and staff on implementing behaviour support strategies.
  • Maintain contemporaneous clinical notes with defensible documentation.

In this rewarding role, you will provide high quality, evidence-based behavioursupportthat places participants, theirgoalsand rights at the centre of everything you do.

Working collaboratively with participants,familiesand stakeholders, you will build respectful relationships founded on trust,opennessand genuine partnership.

Reporting to a Senior Behaviour Support Clinician and the Practice Manager, you will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience while working with children and adults with diverse support needs.

Through functional behaviour assessments and the development of positive behaviour support plans, you will contribute to meaningful support that enhance participants’ quality of life and promote their independence and inclusion.

Develop support strategies that reflect the individual’s goals,preferencesand values, ensuring they have an active role in their own behaviour support planning.

Provide training and support to families,carersand staff on implementing behaviour support strategies.

Maintain contemporaneous and detailed clinical notes, adhering to the defensible documentation standard.

About You

To be effective in this role you will requirestrong communicationskills both written and verbal and can communicate effectively with participants,stakeholdersand colleagues.

To be successful you will have:

  • A NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner registration number and suitability confirmation.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification such as; health, teaching, social work, psychology,therapyor a related field.
  • Experience supporting individuals living with disability)
  • Understanding and commitment to providing ethical, high-quality, person-centred service and positive support.
  • Resilience inmanaging behavioursof concern.
  • Experience delivering positive behaviour support and conducting functional behaviour assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
