The Therapy Studio is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Practitioner in New South Wales. Join a specialist team focused on positive behaviour support, working flexibly across home, community, and clinic settings within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Current NDIS registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.

We are a Specialist Behaviour Support and Clinical Psychology provider who is employing aligned Behaviour Support Practitioners (e.g. Registered as a Core or Proficient+ Practitioner), with experience to join the team. This is a full-time position (with part-time and contractor arrangements open for discussion)

Competitive remuneration, with the ability to progress, based on factors such as experience, tenure and qualification. Plus vested bonuses (paid quarterly).

4 weeks annual leave + birthday leave

A range of bonuses available, such as a flexible & competitive over-KPI bonus. Providing balanced opportunities for permanent staff - the security of a reliable base wage and a no-pressure yet available, ability to increase ones earning potential.

Example: The over-KPI bonus would provide an FTE earning potential of an approx. $20,000 + super (based off an average of additional yet manageable targets) in addition to base salary.

We provide a flexible yet strong level of clinical support, via individual, group and peer supervision. Along with opportunity for asynchronous 'as needed' supervision.

Administrative and practice facilitation support.

A comprehensive and integrated intranet for resources for assessment, reporting, therapy and other implementation.

A work phone and work laptop (that both integrate seamlessly with our technology ecosystem).

Flexible hybrid role. Freedom to work from home, work remotely, work in the community, along with the option to work in clinic. We have co-working and therapy rooms @ The Therapy Studio, 122 Flora Street, Sutherland, 2232.

Paid travel time in line with guidelines of up to 30 mins per way, and mileage reimbursement (88c/km) when travelling to and from clients.

A continuing professional development (CPD) allowance of up to $600 per year, to support skill development and professional growth.

Ability to work independently, and have access to team-based support and collaboration.

Regular professional development available provided by both internal and external clinicians with expertise (approximately 6 per year).

Primary Objectives/Responsibilities -

Develop individualised Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and engage in evidence-based capacity building that aims to enrich participants' quality of life.

Work directly with participants and their support network to provide thoughtful clinical support.

Conduct clinical assessments (i.e. FBAs or standardised assessments), and implement data collection to inform your practice, decision making and advocacy.

Identify and implement strategies for the people we support, that are based on positive behaviour support and other evidence-based principles. Work in collaboration with the support team to develop, implement and review these strategies.

Engage in proactive support and treatment planning. This includes setting realistic and valuable goals for the people we support.

Helpfully and collaboratively engage with your clients and their support network (this may include; families, key decision makers, medical professionals, and other clinical providers).

Uphold regular clinical supervision, continuing your professional development and reflective practice. Providing a high level of clinical support, via individual, group and peer supervision.

Participation in practice meetings.

Ensure services to people we support are delivered according to the National Standards for Disability Services, NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Standards, National Disability Insurance Scheme (Restrictive Practices and Behaviour Support) Rules 2018, and comply with all authorisation requirements for the use of Restrictive Practices Provide and participate in clinical supervision.

Meet individual, organisational and peak body (i.e. NDIS, AHPRA) requirements. For example, this includes the maintenance of adequate clinical notes and records.

Commit to upholding the NDIS practice standards under the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework.

Work within the boundaries of confidentiality, privacy, respect and professional standards.

About you (selection criteria) -

Current NDIS registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner and experience with Positive Behaviour Support

Bachelor degree or equivalent qualifications, that are clinically relevant (psychology, social services, disability services and developmental education)

Experience working with people with disabilities, and knowledge of the NDIS.

Current drivers licence and use of own vehicle

Ability to problem solve, and a 'growth' mindset.

Notable skills of interpersonal communication and in emotional intelligence.

A disarming and open-minded approach with people.

Effective organisational skills, along with the capacity to manage your own caseload.

Strong ethical compass and reflective practice.

Interest in working with diverse populations.

A National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
