Job summary

Downer is inviting applications for a permanent Electrician role at Lavarack Barracks, Townsville, to maintain electrical systems across the base and support PAS delivery. The successful candidate will join a trusted, long-standing team under the PAS contract with the Australian Defence Force.

Applicants should hold a Certificate III in Electrotechnology, a Queensland Electrical Work Licence (unrestricted), and a current driving licence; defence clearance eligibility is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology required.
• Unrestricted QBCC Electrical Work Licence (QLD) required.
• Desirable: Electrical Testing and Tagging Certificate and White Card.
• Desirable: HV Switching Qualification.
• Current Open Drivers Licence.
• Post-trade experience in facilities or electrical maintenance.
• Ability to obtain Defence Security Clearance; Australian citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Undertake electrical maintenance, repair and inspection tasks to ensure safe operation of electrical systems across the base.
• Deliver high quality trade services, maintain WHS and environmental compliance, and collaborate with other trades and service providers.
• Provide responsive and professional trade services to internal and external stakeholders.
• Focus on improving the longevity of fixed plant and equipment.
• Maintain clear, professional communication regarding works and outcomes.
