Job summary

Ovolo Melbourne (South Yarra) is seeking a friendly Coffee Magician to join our vibrant F&B team. Reporting to the F&B supervisor, you will craft excellent coffee, showcase latte art, and help deliver memorable guest experiences in a fast-paced environment.

Ideally 1–2 years of barista experience, a positive attitude, and strong communication will help you thrive. This casual role requires flexibility to cover a seven-day roster and a willingness to contribute to a fun, dynamic team at Ovolo.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years' experience making coffee in a fast-paced environment.
• Latte art knowledge is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Attend to guest coffee orders quickly and efficiently.
• Perform latte art and demonstrate barista skills.
• Work collaboratively with the barista team and other sections as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and equipment condition (espresso machine, grinders, glassware).
• Prepare non-coffee drinks such as juices and soft drinks as needed.
• Know menus, wine lists, and other beverages to upsell where appropriate.
• Encourage guest feedback and update guest history for service personalization.
• Stay informed about local area trends to enhance guest experience.

Ovolo Hotels is on the hunt for our next Coffee Magician aka Barista. Reporting to the F&B supervisor, you will play a vital role in brightening up our guest's day with the most amazing coffee ever! You will thrive off a fast-paced environment and fit in with our F.U.N & fabulous team with your effervescent personality. This is a Casual gig and will require flexibility within your availability to accommodate a 7-day rotating roster. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Quickly and efficiently attend to all guest coffee orders
• Showcase your talent by performing exceptional latte art
• Perform outstanding teamwork among the barista team, and assist other sections as required
• Maintain the top-notch coffee outlet performance for cleanliness, equipment condition (coffee machine, grinders, etc), glassware (coffee cup, tea pot, etc)
• Prepare non-coffee drinks such as juices, soft drinks, alcoholic beverages etc.
• Familiarise yourself with restaurant products and services including full knowledge of menus, wine lists and other beverages
• Encourage feedback from our guests, to update and maintain guest history records, enabling us to anticipate the needs of our guests
• Demonstrate a good knowledge of the local area and continually update knowledge of the latest trends
