Job summary

Pier One Sydney Harbour is seeking an experienced and energetic Fixed Term Bar Manager in one of Sydney’s most iconic waterfront locations. You will lead from the floor, inspire your team and ensure every guest enjoys an experience worth remembering.

As Bar Manager, you will develop a high‑performing team, maintain exceptional service standards, oversee beverage operations and contribute to menu development while protecting RSA obligations and hospitality safety.

Qualifications

• Previous leadership experience in a bar management or similar food and beverage role.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine and contemporary beverage trends.
• NSW RSA certificate (Responsible Service of Alcohol).
• Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and motivating a diverse team.
• Strong operational, stock management and cost-control capabilities.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on leadership style and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operation of all bar outlets with smooth, engaging service.
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences by leading from the floor during busy periods.
• Coach and develop associates to high performance.
• Maintain high standards in beverage preparation, presentation and cleanliness.
• Oversee cocktails, mixed drinks and personalised beverage experiences.
• Manage beverage ordering, stock control and stock takes.
• Monitor beverage costs and support departmental financial targets.
• Contribute to beverage menus, promotions and experiences reflecting the Pier One brand.
• Build relationships with guests, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Deliver training to strengthen product knowledge and service confidence.
• Assist with recruitment, rostering and performance development in the bar team.
• Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, RSA, food safety and hotel procedures.

About the Role

• Support recruitment, onboarding, rostering and performance development within the bar team
• Ensure compliance with liquor licensing requirements, RSA obligations, food safety standards and hotel procedures

About You

• Previous leadership experience in a bar management or similar food and beverage role
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine and contemporary beverage trends
• A current NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate

• Strong operational, stock management and cost-control capabilities
