Job summary

The William Inglis Hotel – MGallery Collection in Sydney seeks a Banquet & Events Manager to lead weddings, conferences, and major events, while supporting other F&B outlets. You will coach and motivate the team, ensuring flawless service and guest experiences that align with luxury standards.

You will manage labour, rosters and operational planning, collaborate with Sales and Kitchen teams, and drive revenue growth in a dynamic, seven‑day operation with RSA certification and Australia‑wide

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing events, conferences, weddings or functions.
• Proven Food & Beverage leadership experience in luxury or high‑volume settings.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant and banquet operations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A calm, organised, solutions‑focused approach in fast paced environments.

Job Description

As the Banquet & Events Manager, you will play a key leadership role within our Food & Beverage team, leading the delivery of weddings, conferences, special events and banquet operations at The William Inglis Hotel – MGallery Collection.

When events are not in operation, you will support our wider Food & Beverage outlets, ensuring seamless operations, engaged teams and consistently elevated guest experiences across the hotel.

Working closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, Chef de Cuisine and wider leadership team, you will bring our luxury service standards to life through visible, hands‑on leadership, developing your team and creating memorable experiences for every guest.

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold HACCP, WHS, Accor and MGallery standards across all operations.

Qualifications

About You

You are a passionate hospitality professional who thrives on delivering exceptional experiences and leading high-performing teams.

You will bring:

• Proven experience managing events, conferences, weddings or functions.
• Proven Food & Beverage leadership experience, with a background in luxury hotels, premium venues or high‑volume hospitality environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant and banquet operations.
• The ability to lead, coach and inspire high‑performing teams.
• Strong commercial awareness, with experience in labour management and financial reporting advantageous.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A genuine passion for guest service and creating memorable experiences.
• A calm, organised and solutions‑focused approach in a fast‑paced environment.
• Full working rights in Australia.
• Flexible availability across a 7‑day operation, including weekends and peak periods.
• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.
