Job summary

Longton Blackwell is seeking an experienced Lawyer / Associate (3+ years PQE) to join our Sydney team and expand our banking and finance work. You will work closely with senior lawyers on lending and security transactions for lenders and borrowers, gaining real carriage of matters and direct client contact.

This role offers the opportunity to shape a developing practice within a nationally recognised firm. You will collaborate across related disciplines and benefit from mentoring and ongoing

Qualifications

• Admission as an Australian Lawyer with NSW practising certificate.
• 3+ years PQE in banking and finance (private practice or in-house).
• Hands-on experience drafting and negotiating finance and security documents.
• Solid knowledge of PPSA and security structures.
• Strong legal research, drafting and analytical abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Act on secured and unsecured lending, property and construction finance, asset and equipment finance, and corporate finance matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate facility agreements, security documents, guarantees and related finance documents.
• Manage due diligence, conditions precedent and settlement processes.
• Advise on PPSA, real property and corporations law issues in financing transactions.
• Manage client files from instructions to completion, liaising with clients, financiers and authorities.
• Prepare written advice and research on banking and finance issues.
• Supervise and support paralegals and junior lawyers on matters.
• Maintain accurate file records and ensure compliance with professional obligations.
• Contribute to growth of the practice.
