Job summary

NHS Jobs at Park Surgery in Horsham is recruiting a Bank Phlebotomist to support primary care services. You will collect blood samples, assist with patient care and work alongside clinical and nursing staff to maintain high standards of patient experience.

Ideal candidates will have phlebotomy experience, be comfortable with basic Word/Excel and email, and adapt to changing priorities while upholding data security and professional boundaries. Bank hours offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in a primary care setting and phlebotomy is essential.
• Able to work in processes and maintain data security.
• Basic PC skills including Word, Excel and email.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient duties and supporting clinical staff.
• Supporting the Practice with duties related to CQC outcomes and ensuring compliance.
• Work with patients with long term conditions such as Diabetes.
• Must have experience in phlebotomy.
• Prepare and assemble equipment including tourniquets, needles, gauze and disposal containers.
• Collect blood for testing.
• Label samples accurately and update medical records.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assisting with patient duties as required and support other team members such as clinical and Nurse Lead with patient care.
• Supporting the Practice with duties related to CQC outcomes and ensuring compliance is maintained.
• You will be working with patients with long term conditions such as Diabetes etc.
• So must have experience in Phlebotomy.
• Properly prepare and assemble the equipment to include tourniquets, needles, gauze cotton and disposal containers for needles
• Collect blood for testing.
• Label blood samples accurately.
• Update and maintain patients medical record.

Ideal Candidate:

• Must be able to adapt with changing priorities and be personable, polite and patient with our patients.
• Must have basic PC skills such as Word, Excel and email.
• Ability to use own judgement and be aware of professional boundaries they are working to.
