Job summary

Good Ways Deli in Redfern and Alexandria is hiring a Baker to join our growing bakery team. You will mix, portion and bake breads and pastries, open the bakery each morning, and supply goods for wholesale and catering. We value teamwork, consistency and quality in a fast-paced environment.

We offer both full-time and part-time roles with salary or hourly rates negotiable based on experience, and a supportive team culture with regular training and development opportunities.

Good Ways is a proudly Australian bakery, sandwich shop and café with a passion for quality food, genuine hospitality and community. About Good Ways

Everything we do is centred around making exceptional food from scratch. We bake our own bread, prepare as much as possible in-house and work with some of Australia's best producers to deliver consistently high-quality products.

Our bakery and cafés are open seven days a week, from 7:00am–3:00pm on weekdays and 8:00am–2:00pm on weekends.

As our business continues to grow, with further expansion planned for later this year, we're looking for a Baker to join our baking team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing independent business and contribute to the next stage of our journey.

We're looking for someone who is available to work 3–4 days per week and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where teamwork, consistency and quality are valued.

Full-time and part-time opportunities are available, with salary or hourly rates negotiated according to experience.

Responsibilities

• Mixing, preparing and baking breads and pastries.
• Opening the bakery each morning.
• Arranging and maintaining an appealing pastry display.
• Producing and supplying goods for wholesale, catering and our other locations.
• Ensuring all baked goods are completed to a predetermined schedule.
• Maintaining a consistently high standard of quality across all products.
• Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.
• Working collaboratively with the wider bakery and café teams.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a bakery or similar production environment.
• Experience with dough mixing, proofing, shaping and baking.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to plan, prioritise and consistently meet deadlines.
• A genuine passion for quality food and baking.
• Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced environment.
