Job summary

Star Aviation Services is seeking a Baggage Support Crew member to join our permanent part-time team at Melbourne Airport. You will help move oversize baggage through the T2 OOG facility, supporting safe and efficient operations.

The role offers a minimum 20 hours per week, typical 8-hour shifts, and a friendly, safety-focused ground handling environment. You will work with colleagues across rosters on a dynamic aviation operation and develop your skills with us.

Qualifications

• Physically fit and capable of safely handling baggage of varying weights.
• Safety-conscious, reliable and detail-oriented.
• A strong communicator who works well as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Able to follow procedures and maintain a high level of accuracy.
• Willing and able to operate baggage handling equipment following appropriate training and authorisation.
• Flexible to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Previous experience in aviation, baggage handling or ground support operations is desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Handling unscreened oversize baggage and loading items through X-ray screening in accordance with airport and airline security requirements
• Safely transferring screened baggage to other Ground Handling teams
• Operating ground support equipment, including baggage tugs and barrows, where authorised and required.
• Safely lifting, carrying and transporting baggage of varying weights.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment.
• Working closely with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate operations effectively.
• Following all company, airport and airline safety, security and manual handling procedures.
• Completing required documentation accur

About the Role
