Job summary

Star Aviation at Melbourne Airport is seeking a Baggage Support Crew member for a permanent part-time role, supporting the T2 Oversize Baggage operation. You will help move oversize baggage safely and efficiently, working in a safety-focused team.

The role involves handling unscreened oversize baggage, operating baggage tugs and barrows with training, and coordinating with colleagues across shifts. A physically fit, safety-conscious team player is needed for a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Physically fit and able to safely handle baggage of varying weights.
• Safety-conscious, reliable and detail-oriented.
• Strong communicator and works well as part of a team.
• Willing to operate baggage handling equipment following training and authorisation.
• Flexible to work across a 24/7 rotating roster.

Responsibilities

• Handle oversize baggage and loading through X-ray screening in accordance with airport and airline security requirements.
• Safely transferring screened baggage to other Ground Handling teams.
• Operate ground support equipment, including baggage tugs and barrows, where authorised and required.
• Safely lifting, carrying and transporting baggage of varying weights.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment.
• Working closely with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate operations effectively.
• Following all company, airport and airline safety, security and manual handling procedures.
• Completing required documentation accurately.
