Job summary

McKkr's Training & Internships is seeking a skilled backend engineer to design and implement scalable services, APIs, and data pipelines in Sydney. You will integrate AI models, collaborate with product and AI teams, and drive secure, high-performance software across the stack.

The role emphasizes building robust backend architecture, contributing to product features from discovery to release, and mentoring juniors while ensuring code quality and maintainability in a fast-paced startup

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification.
At least five years of relevant experience and/or vendor certification may substitute for the formal qualification.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines.
Integrate AI/ML models into consumer-facing products.
Collaborate with product and AI teams to deliver personalised AI experiences.
Develop and optimize backend services, APIs, and databases for performance and reliability.
Ensure secure, scalable backend services and APIs; follow best practices for testing and deployment (CI/CD).
Troubleshoot and resolve bottlenecks as the company scales.
Prepare technical documentation and handover knowledge across the team.
Assist in debugging and resolving production issues across the stack.
