Job summary

Axi is seeking a backend engineer to design and implement robust backend systems for real-time accounting workloads. You will own APIs, architecture, and end-to-end delivery, collaborating across teams to ensure reliability and performance.

The role emphasizes Python-based development with modern frameworks, strong database prowess, and AWS deployment expertise in a production environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Deep experience with complex business logic products.
• Strong PostgreSQL/SQL and ORM skills.
• Experience deploying on AWS with CI/CD and production readiness.
• Bonus: Python and a modern web framework (FastAPI, Flask, or Django).

• Ship features end-to-end, including architecture, CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and beyond.
• Integrate third-party tools and external systems, proactively managing edge cases and risk.

Requirements:

• Hardcore work ethic and high agency.
• 5+ years in backend engineering (language agnostic).
• Deep experience with complex business logic products.
• Strong database skills: PostgreSQL, SQL, ORMs, migrations, and schema design.
• Experience deploying on AWS (or similar), with solid CI/CD and production-readiness fundamentals.
