Osborne Richardson is recruiting a Cloud Specialist to design, implement, and govern cloud infrastructure for a public sector Council. You will lead migrations, establish standards, and drive security and cost governance across multi-cloud environments.

The role demands IaC, Terraform, Terraform, and strong DevOps practices, with hands-on Kubernetes and container experience. Broadmeadows-based, start ASAP, contract to 8 Apr 2027.

Formación

• Experience in multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Advanced experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep)
• Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
• Strong knowledge of cloud security, identity management, and compliance frameworks
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

Responsabilidades

• Implement monitoring, logging and alerting across cloud infrastructure.
• Ensure cloud platforms comply with cybersecurity and information governance policies.

About the role:

The Cloud Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure and services. This role ensures scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions that support business operations and digital transformation initiatives.

The Cloud Specialist provides strategic leadership in the design, optimisation and governance of Council's cloud environment.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and recommend cloud technologies and service for optimal performance and cost efficiency.
• Design and maintain theenterprise cloud architecture, including networking, identity, security, monitoring and governance.
• Establishcloud landing zones and architectural standardsfor cloud deployments.
• Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements to the organisation’s infrastructure platform.
• Assess existing on-premise infrastructure and applications to determine suitability for cloud migration.
• Develop migration strategies includingrehost, replatform, refactor or SaaS adoption approaches.
• Plan and leadmigration waves and workload transition plans.
• Identify dependencies, risks and mitigation strategies during migration.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight during migration execution.
• Design and implementAzure cloud infrastructure and core platform services.
• Configure cloud networking, identity, security and monitoring solutions.
• Build hybrid infrastructure integratingon-premise environments with cloud platforms.
• ImplementInfrastructure as Code and automated deployment frameworks.
• Deploy and manage infrastructure supporting organisational applications and services.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, connectivity and migration issues.
• Support ongoing improvement of cloud platforms through automation and optimisation.
• Implement security measures to protect cloud infrastructure and data including encryption, access control and monitoring.
• Implement governance frameworks covering identity, networking, resource management and security.
• Ensure cloud platforms comply with organisational cybersecurity and information governance policies.
• Implement monitoring, logging and alerting across cloud infrastructure.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities for cloud platforms.
• Monitor and optimise cloud costs and resource utilisation.
• Implement cost governance practices and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, scalability and efficiency of cloud platforms.

Experience

• Experience in multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments
• Familiarity with FinOps practices and cloud cost governance
• Experience leading technical teams or projects
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, microservices, and distributed systems
• Advanced experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep)
• Proficiency in scripting/programming (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)
• Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
