Job summary

The Network is seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to join a major Federal Government program in Canberra. This role focuses on building, automating and securing Microsoft Azure infrastructure within a complex enterprise environment.

Location: Canberra preference with NV1 clearance required; 12 months with possible 12 month extensions. You will work across infrastructure, application and security teams to strengthen cloud security and automation.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps experience in complex enterprise environments.
• Extensive Terraform/IaC experience, with Bicep and/or ARM templates.
• Experience across DevSecOps, CI/CD, cloud security and vulnerability management.
• Ability to collaborate with architects, developers, infrastructure and security teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain secure Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and services.
• Develop automated infrastructure and deployments using Azure DevOps, Terraform, Bicep and/or ARM.
• Implement and improve Azure security controls across RBAC, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud and vulnerability management.
• Develop reusable automation and self-service capabilities while contributing to leadership and knowledge transfer.

The role suits an engineer with strong Azure DevOps, Terraform/IaC, Linux and cloud security experience who can work across infrastructure, application and security teams.

The Role

• Design, build and maintain secure Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and services.
• Develop automated infrastructure and application deployments using Azure DevOps, Terraform, Bicep and/or ARM.
• Implement and improve Azure security controls across RBAC, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud and vulnerability management.
• Develop reusable automation, cloud foundations and self‑service capabilities while contributing to technical leadership and knowledge transfer.

Key Skills

• Strong hands‑on Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps experience within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong Terraform / Infrastructure as Code capability, ideally including Bicep and/or ARM templates.
• Experience across DevSecOps, CI/CD, cloud security, vulnerability management, Azure RBAC, Azure Policy and Defender for Cloud.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring and experience working with architects, developers, infrastructure and security teams.
