Job summary

Westpac Group is hiring a Cloud DevOps Engineer (Azure) to deliver Azure infrastructure for enterprise projects. You will leverage the ELZ platform and reusable modules to deploy production‑ready environments, enabling new cloud services and scalable delivery.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of Azure experience, IaC with Terraform and Azure DevOps, plus Kubernetes knowledge. Strong collaboration and Agile delivery mindset are essential for success in this hybrid role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience delivering Azure infrastructure and cloud services across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS in secure, governed enterprise environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps automation, including Terraform (AzureRM and AzAPI), Bitbucket, Jira, Jenkins and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong troubleshooting, analysis and problem‑solving skills across cloud, application and infrastructure services.
• Working knowledge of scripting and automation using at least one language or toolset such as Bash, Shell, Python, JavaScript, NodeJS, Ruby or JSON.
• Experience with Kubernetes, application deployment patterns and cloud‑native delivery practices; GitOps or ArgoCD experience is highly regarded.
• Strong customer engagement, relationship management, communication and collaboration skills, including requirements gathering, delivery planning and stakeholder alignment.
• Ability to coach others, work effectively in Agile delivery models, and continuously learn new cloud, automation and AI‑enabled delivery approaches.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Azure infrastructure for project initiatives and consume the existing ELZ platform and reusable modules.
• Enable new cloud services and enhance existing ones as customer demand evolves.
• Bridge platform capability and project delivery by turning patterns and guardrails into production‑ready environments.
• Develop and deliver technical solutions on the public cloud, ensuring detailed design, build and operations are fit for purpose.
