Peoplebank are recruiting an Azure Cloud Developer to design, develop, deploy and support cloud-native solutions in Microsoft Azure from the Adelaide CBD on a hybrid basis.

You will architect cloud-based services, implement APIs, and automate deployment and operations, with a focus on security, scalability, and resilience in a data-intensive environment.

Peoplebank are recruiting for an Azure Cloud Developer to work on a contract through to end of December 2027, based in the Adelaide CBD (hybrid work set-up, but NOT full remote).

You will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting cloud-native solutions within Microsoft Azure. The role develops and maintains secure, scalable, and resilient Azure services that support the collection, validation, processing, integration, and reporting of vast data sets.

The position plays a critical role in establishing a secure, API-driven and highly automated cloud environment that supports this data reform program.

Key Responsibilities

Azure Solution Development

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure services.
• Develop scalable and resilient applications supporting business processes and data services.
• Implement solution components using Azure best practices and cloud architecture principles.
• Contribute to technical design decisions and solution architecture reviews.

Azure Integration & API Development

• Develop and support APIs and integration services that support data exchange.
• Build solutions using Azure API Management, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, and related Azure services.
• Design event-driven and API-led integration patterns that improve scalability and interoperability.

Azure Data Processing & Validation

• Develop cloud-based services supporting data ingestion, transformation, validation, and processing.
• Implement business rules, validation logic, and workflow automation in partnership with Analysts.

Azure DevOps & Automation

• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Bicep, ARM Templates, Terraform, or equivalent technologies.
• Automate deployment, testing, monitoring, and operational activities.
• Support DevSecOps practices across the Program.

Cloud Security & Compliance

• Design and develop solutions aligned with Azure security best practices.
• Implement identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
• Support compliance with IRAP, ISM, privacy, and government security obligations.
• Participate in security reviews, vulnerability remediation, and architecture assurance activities.

Skills and Experience required

Strong experience developing solutions within Microsoft Azure: e. Azure Functions, Azure App Services, Azure API Management, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, Azure Storage Services, Azure Key Vault, Azure Container Apps or AKS.

DevOps & Automation

• Experience using Azure DevOps for source control, build, release, and pipeline management.
• Experience implementing CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
• Understanding of cloud-native engineering and DevSecOps practices.

Data & Integration

• Experience developing APIs and integration solutions.
• Understanding of data transformation, validation, and processing patterns.
• Knowledge of JSON, REST APIs, event-driven architecture, and messaging services.
• Experience working with data-intensive applications and reporting environments.

Security & Compliance

• Understanding of Azure security services and controls.
• Knowledge of identity management, authentication, and authorisation practices.
• Experience working within government or highly regulated environments is desirable.
• Familiarity with IRAP and Government security standards is advantageous.
