Job summary

Change Recruitment is partnering with a major Australian bank to recruit an AWS Migration Engineer to move workloads from on‑premises to AWS. The role is contract for 12 months with a day rate of AU$900–AU$1000, three days per week onsite in the Sydney CBD office.

You will plan, build, test and cutover migrations within the bank’s cloud platform and security framework. This role suits an infrastructure or cloud engineer with proven migrations, Python automation, and experience handling data

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience migrating on-prem workloads to AWS
• Experience across servers, storage, networking and virtualisation
• Experience with Python scripting for automation tasks
• Familiarity with data transfer, integrity checks and validation during migrations

Responsibilities

• Assess on-prem servers, apps, storage and network dependencies for migration prep
• Build and execute migration plans including testing, cutover and rollback
• Migrate workloads to AWS and resolve issues across compute, storage, networking, access
• Use Python to automate discovery, configuration, validation and reporting tasks
• Support migration and validation of workload data with DB and app teams
• Ensure migrated workloads meet security, monitoring, resilience and operational standards
• Document migration steps and handover procedures
