Job summary

Kirra Services partners with a Federal Government agency to recruit an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer for a Canberra-based role. You will design, deploy and manage AWS infrastructure, ensuring ISM-aligned security and collaborating with DevOps teams to automate cloud operations.

Your responsibilities include implementing secure infrastructure, deploying AWS services via IaC, and advancing CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices, with a focus on AWS AI services such as Bedrock.

Qualifications

• Experience securing AWS environments within government security frameworks.
• Experience deploying AWS services using IaC tools (Terraform/CloudFormation/Ansible).
• Experience with CI/CD, automation and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience deploying and supporting AWS AI services, including Bedrock.

The Agency
Our Federal Government agency advises the government on many of its strategic priorities, including providing advice to the government on optimal arrangements for the management and ownership of public assets.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and manage AWS infrastructure, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda and VPC services.
• Develop and implement security policies and procedures in line with ISM controls to safeguard cloud resources and data.
• Contribute to DevOps and DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation activities.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Experience securing AWS environments within government operational and security frameworks, including implementation of ISM aligned security controls
• Experience deploying and configuring AWS services using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation and/or Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience deploying and supporting AWS AI services and platforms, including Amazon Bedrock.
