Job summary

Jet Aviation's Component Services team is seeking an Aviation Welder to support repair, overhaul, fabrication and maintenance of aircraft components in Brisbane or Cairns.

The role requires a recognised trade qualification and practical TIG welding experience with aerospace materials. You will interpret drawings, apply welding processes, and ensure safety, quality and timely ERP documentation.

This 6-month contract may extend; applicants nationwide are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in engineering fabrication or welding.
• Experience in precision welding and fabrication.
• TIG welding with aerospace materials.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and repair instructions.
• Knowledge of welding quality controls and inspection requirements.
• Understanding of aviation maintenance practices.
• ERP/computer literacy including MS Office.
• Driver Licence in Australia.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding, brazing, fabrication, repair and overhaul activities on aircraft components, tooling and equipment in accordance with maintenance data, instructions and procedures.
• Apply TIG, MIG, oxy-acetylene and other approved welding processes on stainless steel and aluminium.
• Interpret engineering drawings, publications, repair instructions and specifications.
• Complete welding and fabrication activities in line with aviation requirements and quality standards.
• Inspect welds and repairs, identify defects and escalate issues.
• Support manufacture, modification and repair of tooling and workshop equipment.
• Complete work orders and ERP transactions accurately and on time.
• Communicate risks to quality, safety or production schedules.
• Maintain welding equipment, tooling and work areas safely.
• Identify hazards and comply with WHS and safe-work requirements.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the workshop.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for safety, quality and productivity.
