Job summary

Certis Australia is seeking an Aviation Screening Officer to support the Sydney Airport 24/7 operation. You will operate X-ray and screening equipment, conduct physical inspections and provide calm, professional customer service to passengers and staff.

Successful candidates will complete 5 weeks of paid training to obtain the Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (AVI20118) and join a rotating roster. Eligibility to work in Australia and a valid licence are required.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to work full-time in Australia.
• Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Professional presentation, reliability and strong understanding of security protocols.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).

Responsibilities

• Operating advanced X-ray and screening equipment to detect prohibited items and assess images quickly and accurately.
• Conducting physical inspections, bag checks, frisk searches and Explosive Trace Detection procedures in line with aviation security requirements.
• Providing calm, confident and professional customer service to passengers, airport workers and stakeholders.
• Monitoring access points, walk-through metal detectors and screening lanes to maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Responding to alarms, suspicious items and incidents in line with established procedures.
• Maintaining accurate records and supporting compliance with aviation security standards and regulations.
