Job summary

Certis Australia is seeking an Aviation Screening Officer to safeguard Sydney Airport. You will operate X-ray and screening equipment, conduct inspections, and deliver professional customer service while following strict security protocols.

The role involves a rotating roster after training, 5 weeks of paid training to achieve the required national qualification (AVI20118), and opportunities for career growth within a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to work full-time in Australia.
• Valid Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Professional presentation, reliability and understanding of security protocols.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
• Ability to manage conflict and maintain professionalism under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Operate advanced X-ray and screening equipment to detect prohibited items and assess images.
• Conduct physical inspections, bag checks, frisk searches and ETD procedures.
• Provide calm, confident and professional customer service to passengers and stakeholders.
• Monitor access points, walk-through detectors and screening lanes for safety.
• Respond to alarms and incidents following established procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and support compliance with aviation security standards.
