Job summary

Babcock Australasia is seeking a Senior Aviation Safety Advisor to lead the ongoing effectiveness of our Aviation Safety Management System in Australia. You will work with operational leaders and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual safety requirements.

The role requires a strong aviation background, six years' experience in related fields, and the ability to analyze safety data, conduct investigations, and drive improvements through training and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Six years’ experience in aviation safety, compliance, risk, quality, or operational assurance.
• Strong understanding of Safety Management Systems and risk management principles.
• Experience conducting audits, investigations, and safety occurrences.
• Ability to engage stakeholders and translate data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SMS effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate analysis of safety data to support decision-making.
• Lead safety investigations, audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Mentor and train staff; promote a proactive safety culture.
• Monitor KPIs and engage with regulators and clients.
