Job summary

Airnorth seeks a Safety & Compliance Manager to lead安全 management across the organisation in Darwin, ensuring effective safety, security, quality and hazard controls. The role chairs the Safety Action Group and serves as Secretary of the Safety Review Board, guiding regulatory compliance and governance.

You will oversee the Safety and Compliance Department, liaise with regulators and auditors, and drive ongoing safety improvements while aligning with the company’s Territory roots and expanding

Qualifications

• Broad operational knowledge of aviation functions (engineering, cabin services, ground and flight operations).
• Detailed knowledge of Aviation Legislation and its impact on day-to-day operations.
• Safety Management Training and experience with aviation safety/quality management systems.
• Lead Auditor training or equivalent demonstrated auditing capability.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee security, occupational health and safety, quality and environment policy and procedures.
• Manage Safety and Compliance Department staff and budgets.
• Lead audits with regulators and external clients; coordinate with auditors.
• Review Change Management processes and ensure ISA compliance and governance.
• Chair the Airnorth Safety Action Group and act as secretary to the Safety Review Board.
• Provide guidance on safety matters to managers, staff and contractors; monitor regulatory changes.
