Job summary

Airnorth is seeking a Safety & Compliance Manager to lead the Safety and Compliance Department and oversee the SMS, regulatory compliance and audits. Based in Northern Australia with operations in Darwin and Perth, the role chairs the Safety Action Group and supports board oversight.

The successful candidate will bring broad aviation operations knowledge, strong regulatory understanding, and proven lead-auditor capabilities, along with excellent communication skills to coordinate across

Qualifications

• Broad operational knowledge in aviation organisations.
• Detailed knowledge of aviation legislation and regulatory impact.
• Experience leading SMS and safety/quality systems.
• Training and experience as a lead auditor.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee security, occupational health and safety, quality, and environment policies.
• Manage staff within the Safety and Compliance Department.
• Lead independent reviews of Change Management processes.
• Liaise with regulators and auditors during external audits.
• Chair Safety Action Group and secretariat for Safety Review Board.
