Job summary

Freightquip is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Apprentice Technician to join our workshop team at Western Sydney Airport. You will assist with servicing, maintenance, and preparation of aviation ground support equipment, working with experienced technicians in a hands-on, specialised aviation environment.

This full-time role offers a pathway into Service Technician and Field Service positions, with a 4 on 4 off roster and 6am–6pm hours, operating year-round.

Qualifications

• At least one year of professional mechanical or workshop experience.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
• The ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• A positive attitude and good communication skills.
• A strong commitment to workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with scheduled servicing, maintenance and repairs
• Perform basic mechanical servicing and preventative maintenance tasks
• Support fault-finding, component replacement and equipment repairs
• Prepare equipment for inspection, delivery and customer handover
• Conduct basic equipment inspections and complete service documentation
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
• Keep equipment, tools and workshop areas clean and well maintained
• Support workshop and field-service activities when required
• Follow all workplace health, safety and airport security requirements
