Job summary

North Shore Veterinary Specialist Centre (NSVSC) in Sydney, NSW, seeks an experienced emergency veterinarian to own night and weekend shifts, working independently to manage overnight caseload while the hospital’s specialist teams are off-site.

You’ll be the clinical backbone of after-hours care—triaging, stabilising, and managing emergency patients with confidence, with access to a hospital built for serious ECC work and collaborative support from a dedicated ECC team.

Qualifications

• Hold BVSc, DVM or equivalent and eligibility for NSW registration.
• ECC/emergency experience and ability to run night shift independently.
• Strong triage and case management skills across emergency presentations.
• Desire to advance emergency medicine skills within a specialist-supported environment.

Responsibilities

• Cover a mixture of night and weekend shifts, working independently to manage overnight caseload.
• Triaging, stabilising and managing emergency patients with confidence.
• Know when to elevate to the specialist team and act as the clinical backbone after hours.
