Job summary

Followmont Transport Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join the Cairns Workshop. This full-time, permanent role offers Monday–Friday work with flexible hours and the opportunity to take ownership of your workspace and workflow.

You will be supported by a North Queensland workshop network while maintaining high standards to keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently. A modern workshop, autonomy, uniforms, health benefits, and wellbeing support are among the benefits.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
• Experience working on heavy vehicles or diesel equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your workload.
• Commitment to safety, quality and attention to detail.
• A team-first attitude and pride in your workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnosing and repairing faults.
• Maintaining compliance and workshop safety standards.
• Supporting and mentoring a Trade Assistant.
• Working closely with drivers and operational teams.
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
