Job summary

All G Auto Service PTY LTD – Mermaid Beach QLD is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician / Motor Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis. We work on light vehicles, 4x4s and commercial vehicles, performing servicing, diagnostics and major mechanical work.

The successful applicant will diagnose, service and repair a range of vehicles, including modern electronically controlled models. Candidates must have a trade qualification, strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in automotive (Certificate III) or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years post-trade experience.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
• Experience on modern light vehicles.
• Experience with 4x4 vehicles preferred.
• Able to use scan tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Work independently and in a team.
• Current Australian driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair a wide range of vehicles including modern electronically controlled models.
• Perform logbook servicing and maintenance.
• Carry out vehicle inspections and mechanical assessments.
• Use diagnostic equipment to locate faults and perform repairs.
• Repair engines, brakes, steering, suspension and transmissions.
• Carry out timing belts/ chains replacement.
• Test roadworthiness and verify repairs.
• Maintain accurate job cards and repair documentation.
• Keep workshop clean, safe and organised.

We work on a wide range of light vehicles, 4x4s and commercial vehicles, carrying out general servicing, diagnostics, repairs and major mechanical work.

We work on a wide range of light vehicles, 4x4s and commercial vehicles, carrying out general servicing, diagnostics, repairs and major mechanical work.

The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing and repairing a wide range of vehicles, including modern electronically controlled vehicles and 4x4s.

Duties will include:

• General servicing and maintenance

• Logbook servicing

• Vehicle inspections and mechanical assessments

• Computer diagnostics and fault finding

• Engine repairs and component replacement

• Timing belt and timing chain replacement

• Brake, steering and suspension repairs

• Clutch and transmission repairs

• Cooling system repairs

• Fuel and diesel system repairs

• Electrical and electronic fault diagnosis

• 4x4 servicing and repairs

• Air conditioning diagnosis and repairs where qualified

• Pre-purchase and mechanical inspections

• Road testing and verification of repairs

• Accurate completion of job cards and repair documentation

• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop

The ideal candidate will have:

• Relevant automotive trade qualification, such as Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, or equivalent recognised trade qualification

• Minimum 3 years' relevant post-trade experience preferred

• Strong diagnostic and mechanical fault-finding skills

• Experience working on modern light vehicles

• Experience with 4x4 vehicles highly regarded

• Ability to use automotive scan tools and diagnostic equipment

• Ability to carry out mechanical repairs independently

• Good understanding of vehicle systems and repair procedures

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Current Australian driver's licence or ability to obtain one

• A professional attitude and good communication skills
