Job summary

Stow Smash Repairs in Artarmon (NSW) is seeking an experienced Automotive Spray Painter to join the team on a full-time basis. The role includes preparing vehicles, sanding, masking and priming, followed by high-quality spray painting to manufacturer specifications.

Work Monday to Friday 7am–4:30pm, with Saturday work by appointment. A relevant trade qualification and 10+ years' experience are required; salary is AUD 120,000 per year. Maintain a safe, clean spray booth and meet repair schedules.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles and panels for painting including sanding, masking and priming.
• Mix and match paint colours to manufacturer specifications.
• Carry out spray painting and refinishing to a high standard.
• Complete colour blending and paint repairs.
• Inspect finished work for quality and consistency; rectify defects.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe spray booth and work area.
• Operate spray guns and paint mixing equipment safely.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and workplace safety requirements.
• Meet repair schedules and deadlines; communicate with the team.

MSCV Enterprises Pty Ltd t/a Stow Smash Repair is a long-standing, independent workshop in Artarmon, on Sydney's North Shore, established in 1965. We take insurance and private work on all makes, from daily drivers to prestige cars.

We are currently seeking an experienced Automotive Spray Painter to join our team full time. The role will involve working Monday to Friday 7am - 4:30pm, with Saturday work by appointment only.

• Prepare vehicles and panels for painting, including sanding, masking and priming.
• Mix and match paint colours accurately to manufacturer specifications.
• Carry out high-quality spray painting and refinishing work.
• Complete colour blending and paint repairs to a high standard.
• Inspect finished work to ensure quality and consistency.
• Identify and rectify paint defects such as runs, dust, orange peel and colour mismatch.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe spray booth and work area.
• Operate spray guns, paint mixing equipment and other workshop equipment safely.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and workplace safety requirements.
• Work efficiently to meet repair schedules and deadlines.
• Communicate with the repair team to ensure vehicles are completed to the required standard.
• Correctly use and maintain PPE and safety equipment.
• Dispose of paint, solvents and other hazardous materials in accordance with workplace requirements.

Applicants must hold a relevant trade qualification and have at least 10+ years' experience as an Automotive Spray Painter.
