Job summary

CQUniversity is seeking a qualified tradesperson to teach Automotive Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology in Mackay. You will share industry expertise in both classroom and hands-on workshop settings with apprentices.

No prior teaching experience is required as the role includes a fully funded teaching qualification and structured support to help you succeed in a vocational education environment.

Qualifications

• A minimum qualification in Automotive Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology is required.
• Dual-trade candidates with Auto Electrical or another complementary trade will be highly regarded.
• Hands-on industry experience in electrical installation, maintenance, fault finding, testing or commissioning.
• Interest in mentoring apprentices and guiding learners in workshop and classroom settings.
• No teaching experience required—willingness to work in a structured setting with assessment, documentation and student support.

Responsibilities

• Teach in both workshop and classroom environments to apprentices.
• Deliver hands-on training and share practical industry knowledge.
• Support students to achieve certificates and become job-ready.
