Job summary

MTL Group in Braeside, Melbourne, is seeking a skilled Sewing Machine Operator for our automotive interior manufacturing operation. You will work with car mats, boot liners and sunshades, applying bindings to finish products and ensuring quality standards are met.

You will follow instructions, work unsupervised when required, learn new materials and binding settings, assemble products, and help with packing orders.

Qualifications

• Seasoned machinist with commercial/industrial experience and textiles sector exposure.
• Excellent attention to quality and workmanship.
• Experience using industrial binding machines.
• Reliable, motivated and committed.
• Fluent in reading and speaking English.
• Willing to learn new skills and training provided.
• Focus on accuracy and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Working with car mats, boot liners or sunshades that require a binding to finish off the product.
• Following instructions and work unsupervised.
• Understand materials and be provided training.
• Change various binding materials and set the machine accordingly.
• Assemble products including cleaning mats, inserting eyelets and badges, and restocking.
• Packing orders.
