Job summary

Bosch Australia’s Vehicle Motion Control team at Anglesea, Victoria is seeking an experienced Automotive or Engineering Technician to join the Automotive Australia Research Centre (AARC). You will work with engineers on advanced vehicle development programs, support testing, and manage day-to-day operations in a hands-on facility.

You will be technically strong, practical and able to work independently while collaborating with engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

• Experienced Automotive Technician with strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
• Proven workshop, maintenance and fault-finding capability.
• Fabrication and welding experience; skills with lathes, mills and other workshop machinery would be highly regarded.
• Practical, methodical approach to diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
• Ability to work autonomously, take ownership and use initiative.
• Strong organisational, time-management and communication skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality and maintaining high workshop standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide vehicle technical support for development and application activities.
• Prepare, maintain and service development vehicles, test equipment and instrumentation.
• Support engineers with vehicle development, testing & validation activities.
• Prepare and de-instrument vehicles for testing and application programs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across vehicle systems and components.
• Remove, replace and modify electrical modules and braking systems.
• Conduct development testing in consultation with Application Engineers.
• Install, modify and maintain vehicle instrumentation and test equipment.
• Fabricate test fixtures and components using workshop machinery.
• Ensure test equipment is maintained, fit-for-purpose and available.
