Job summary

RobLawMax Recruitment is seeking an experienced Auto Electrician for a regional New South Wales mining operation. The role offers a permanent full-time residential position with a 7/7 roster, delivering electrical servicing to heavy mobile equipment and contributing to mine productivity, while allowing you to be home every night.

You will work in a supportive team, perform diagnostics, maintenance and installation of control systems, CAN-bus networks, and air conditioning, with a strong emphasis

Qualifications

  • Must hold a recognised Automotive Electrician trade qualification (Cert III or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in underground mining environments or underground mobile plant equipment.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability across major underground fleets (e.g., Sandvik, Epiroc, CAT, Volvo, Normet).
  • Solid understanding of low-voltage electrical systems, CAN-bus networks and auto-air conditioning.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and site procedures, with ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical servicing, diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on heavy mobile equipment.
  • Specialise in underground mining fleets and auxiliary equipment in underground and workshop environments.
  • Carry out advanced electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic scanning to minimise downtime.
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns as needed.
  • Install and maintain vehicle control systems, communication gear and air conditioning systems.
  • Work safely and align tasks with site safety and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, planners and trades to support efficient operations.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Auto Electrician to join our established mining operation in regional New South Wales.

This is an excellent opportunity to build a stable career in a well-supported environment, working on essential heavy mobile equipment.

As part of a skilled maintenance team, you'll contribute directly to equipment reliability and mine productivity - all while enjoying the benefit of being home every night.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of heavy mobile equipment.
  • Specialise in underground mining fleets and auxiliary equipment in both underground and workshop environments
  • Carry out advanced electrical troubleshooting, fault finding, and diagnostic scanning to minimise downtime.
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on electrical systems and respond to breakdowns as needed.
  • Install, commission, and maintain vehicle control systems, communication gear, and air conditioning systems.
  • Work safely and ensure all tasks align with site safety and environmental standards.
  • Work closely with supervisors, planners, and fellow trades to support efficient operations.
To Be Successful, You Will Have:
  • A recognised trade qualification – Automotive Electrician (Cert III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent).
  • Proven experience working within underground mining environments or on underground mobile plant equipment.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability across major underground fleets, including Sandvik, Epiroc, CAT, Volvo, and Normet.
  • Solid understanding of low-voltage electrical systems, CAN-bus networks, and auto-air conditioning.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and compliance with site procedures.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
