Job summary

CareCone Group is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to join their Sydney team. The role focuses on hands-on automation testing for mobile, web, and microservices, with strong emphasis on Selenium and API automation using RestAssured.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in the field, works well in Agile environments, and collaborates with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Azure DevOps. Knowledge of ALM Octane and cloud concepts is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in automation testing.
• Experience designing and building test scripts and maintaining them.
• Proven experience with Selenium for web/mobile automation.
• Experience with API automation tools like RestAssured.
• Experience with test management tools such as ALM Octane.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins or Azure DevOps).

Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience in automation testing of mobile, web, and microservices.
• Write and maintain test plans, strategies, and test cases.
• Develop and maintain test scripts and ensure reliability in CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with developers to understand features and risks; perform risk-based testing.
• Apply ISTQB principles and best practices to ensure software quality.

Job description

• Hands on experience with Automation testing Mobile applications, Microservice and Web.
• Proven experience writing test plans, test strategies, test cases and test reporting.
• Proven experience in designing and building of test scripts and maintaining it using Selenium.
• Experience in open-source API automation tools such as RestAssured.
• Experience in test management tool ALM Octane.
• Experience with automating testing from CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented development practices using Java and/or other similar ones.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Demonstrate effective communication processes meeting demands of product / project requirements.
• Working knowledge of MicroFocus toolset including ALM Octane.
• Working experience of CI and associated tools such as Azure DevOps
• Understanding of Cloud technologies
• Principles of Agile.
• Demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of testing market.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 certification useful.
• Use appropriate tools for change control, risks and issues
• Provide focused, accurate and exact data analysis.
