Job summary

Australian Securities Exchange is seeking a test automation engineer to join the Sydney-based test team. You will develop and maintain automated tests, support CI/CD pipelines, and provide reliable release evidence for ASX Trade and related market platforms.

The role requires 3–6 years of experience in test automation, strong Java and Python skills, API testing with Postman/SoapUI, CI/CD with GitLab, SQL, Linux, and collaboration using Jira/Confluence.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in test automation or related field.
• Strong Java automation skills and ability to maintain tests and framework assets.
• Proficient in Python and supporting Python-based automation assets.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming and maintainable automation design.
• Hands-on API/integration/backend testing using Postman, SoapUI or REST libraries.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and investigating failed automated test executions.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence for test management and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve automated tests, reusable components, and execution assets.
• Support automated test execution within GitLab CI/CD or equivalent pipelines.
• Create and execute automated API, integration, regression, end-to-end, and release verification tests for ASX Trade and related platforms.
• Apply solid programming and scripting practices to produce well-documented test assets.
• Contribute to shift-left testing by reviewing requirements and designs for testability and automation opportunities.
• Validate protocols and data feeds across applicable interfaces.
• Prepare test data and environment readiness for Linux/Unix and integrated test environments.
• Investigate automation failures and data discrepancies using logs and queries.
• Document results and provide release evidence for production readiness.
